International Summer Courses

We organise ECTS-accredited intensive courses for language levels A2 to C1 (no A1). In addition, we offer an ECTS-credited, varied and regional excursion programme that allows you to get to know Düsseldorf and its surroundings.

Course phase I:

Scope:
40 hours per course phase + approx. 10 hours of regional studies, excursions

Teaching time:
Monday to Friday from 9.00 am - 10.30 am and 11.00 am - 12.30 pm
4 lessons of 45 minutes per day

Course size:
10 - 16 participants per group, several groups

The courses are aimed at students of all disciplines at the partner universities and scholarship holders (of Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf) with a minimum age of 18 years and a proven language level from beginner to advanced: level A2 to C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This means that you have already had approx. 200 hours of German lessons.

Learning, refreshing and consolidating general language skills, listening and reading comprehension with current texts, exercises in grammar, vocabulary and idioms, improving speaking skills and written expression, intercultural regional studies, German films and everyday culture.

On the first day of each course, you will take a written placement test to determine the right course level for you. In this course level you will then study for two or four weeks with a tried and tested textbook.

You will receive 2 ECTS per course phase (2 weeks) as well as a certificate of successful participation at the end of the course.

275 € for one course phase (two weeks of classroom teaching).

550 € for two course phases (four weeks of classroom teaching).

Additional costs for classroom teaching:
Textbook (approx. 30 €).
